Community survey results meeting scheduled for Oct. 16

Swayzee EDC

September was an exciting and busy month!

On Sept. 11th, we hosted our first community forum in the Swayzee Town Hall, and we couldn’t believe the turnout. We hoped that 50 people might attend this meeting, but almost 70 of our wonderful community members packed themselves into the Town Hall in order to share their thoughts, ideas, and dreams for Swayzee. Dr. Michael Burayidi, our partner at Ball State University, told us that it was by far the most attended public forum he has led across all 15 communities with which he has worked. We heard a lot of great thoughts during the forum, but one thing came through loud and clear: the people of Swayzee care deeply about the future of this town!

On Sept. 13th, we posted our first community survey, an opportunity to hear from even more members of our community on what they love about Swayzee and what they wish could be improved. Yet again, this community blew us away. After only 9 days, we received over 100 survey responses, another record for the Ball State team. By the time the survey closed on Sept. 30, we had a total of 165 survey responses! Thank you, Swayzee, for taking the time to complete the survey and help us envision the future of our beloved town.

But we’re not done yet! On October 16, 2024 at 6pm we will be hosting a survey results meeting at the Swayzee Community Church (formerly the Methodist church). Please join us to hear the Ball State team present the results from the survey:
